About meg

Meg Schenk, CVT

Growing up in Ohio, Meg has always been “about the horse”, riding Hunter/Jumpers as a teenager, and finally making the switch to Combined Training as an adult.  There has never been a time when Meg has not made her living as part of the horse industry, be it catch riding, managing barns, or teaching lessons.

After earning her Associates of Applied Science degree from Bel-Rea Institute in 1996, Meg has worked continuously as an equine veterinary technician for 20 years.  Meg has enjoyed every aspect of veterinary medicine but especially enjoys nursing care.

She has been on the Executive Board of the American Association of Equine Veterinary Technicians for 2 years, serving as Regional Director. In this role, Meg manages a group of 10 Regional Contacts and also has a large role in planning Continuing Education Wet Labs at different equine hospitals around the country.

In addition, Meg has traveled to Central America three years running as part of the Equitarians/Project Samana group that provides veterinary care to working equids.  She looks forward to continuing this annual tradition!

Currently, Meg lives with her family in Sedalia and their 3 horses, 4 goats, 3 chickens, 2 cats, and a very busy border collie.

Equine Express Meds is a labor of love for Meg.  Providing veterinary pharmaceuticals to horse owners is a natural segue that keeps her involved in veterinary medicine while not working in private practice.   There is an enormous need for a prescription medication delivery service and Meg looks forward to helping horse owners in stressful situations by providing quick access to needed medications.
